About Suwe.

Suwe is a hyperlocal errand and delivery marketplace for Nigeria, built by Alan Innovations Ltd and live first in Uyo, Akwa Ibom. Post what you need, verified runners nearby bid for it, and you pick who you trust.

What Suwe is

Suwe is a marketplace for errands. You post what you need doing, a market run at Itam, a parcel across town, documents dropped at a bank, someone to stand in a queue for you, and verified runners close by send you offers with their price and their ETA.

That bidding step is the part that makes Suwe different from a normal delivery app. Most services assign you a rider and tell you the price. Suwe shows you the people who are actually nearby, lets them compete for the job, and leaves the decision with you. You can message a runner to confirm the details before anyone moves.

You pay securely through Paystack when you accept a bid. Paystack pays the runner directly. If something goes wrong, raise a dispute in the app and our team will make it right, including refunds where they apply.

Where the name comes from

Suwe is the Nigerian name for the hopscotch game children play in the street, a grid chalked on the ground, hopping from square to square. Almost everyone who grew up here played it.

We chose it because the game is about exactly what the product is about: short hops, close distances, and the neighbourhood you already know. The mark in our logo is that same grid.

Who builds Suwe

Suwe is built and operated by Alan Innovations Ltd, a Nigerian company founded by Alan Douglas and based at No 34 Ukpe Street, Osongama Estate, Uyo, Akwa Ibom. We are starting in Uyo deliberately: it is a city we know, small enough for a proximity model to genuinely work, and underserved by the delivery apps that only really cover Lagos and Abuja.

Suwe is live. The app is out now for Uyo on both the App Store and Google Play. We are still onboarding and verifying runners, so if you know your area and want to earn from it, download the app and sign up as a runner. If you are outside Uyo, leave your details and we will tell you the moment we open near you.

Alan Douglas

Founder & CEO of Suwe · Senior software engineer

Alan Douglas is the founder and CEO of Suwe and Alan Innovations Ltd. Alan is from Akwa Ibom State, graduated from the University of Uyo, and has lived in Uyo ever since those university days.

Living in Uyo all those years is where the idea for Suwe came from. So much of daily life here is errands that someone a few streets away could easily handle, but there was no simple, safe way to find that person and trust them. So Alan set out to build one.

A senior software engineer by trade, Alan has built software for international companies, including the cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex. Suwe gets the same care for reliability and security that platforms handling other people's money demand, from payments to runner verification and live tracking.

What we hold to

Proximity first, always

A person three streets away will always beat a rider sent from across town. Whether runners bid for your job or suwe express assigns the nearest one, Suwe is built around who is genuinely near you.

You stay in control

With bidding, runners offer their price and ETA and you pick the person you want. With suwe express, you choose speed instead: a fixed fare and a nearby reliable rider, assigned for you. Either way it's a real, verified person close by, never a faceless queue.

Protected both ways

You pay securely through Paystack, and if something goes wrong, raise a dispute and we make it right, including refunds where they apply. Every runner clears NIN and selfie verification and meets our team before they can take work, so there is a real, traceable person behind every offer.
